And the seed is planted...

Tuesday March 1st, 2011- Amanda's birthday.  We're at The Basement in Santa Monica for a Bagavagabonds (http://www.bagavagabonds.com/) event, and I can't help but notice how cool and different everyone's outfits are.  I say to Amanda- "We've got to start documenting the outfits we wear."

LA is amazing.  You can literally wear anything you want- so long as you "rock it" with your attitude.  I found myself in a genuine 1970s ruffled shirt under an Ann Taylor Loft blazer circa 1980, sharp cropped black dress pants from Zara and fabulous snakeskin stilleto heels.  Amanda was glorious in a vintage turquoise green frock with a modern belt slung across her hips, and Thandi the darling of the night in a lovely little orange number found thriftily at H&M, paired with some hot vintage cowboy boots snagged from American Vintage.

As the month progessed and time after time the three of us showed up to events in seemingly unlikely combinations of vintage/thrifty/designer pieces, I became more and more determined to start a fashion diary of sorts- and then I thought- why not share it?  And so FashionMash-LA is born...

I'd love to see people in other cities share their ideas of "No-Fear Fashion"- and people in LA post their combinations as well.
